Interesting Fact:   The Rock Werchter festival is regarded as one of the five biggest annual rock music festivals in Europe (the other four being the Glastonbury Festival, Roskilde Festival, Sziget Festival and the Oxegen Festival).

Interesting Fact:   "Na Fir Blog" which means "The Round Men" in Gaelic, was a Gaelic tribe. Due to the fact that the organizers of the festival were regarded as being fat, they called themselves "The Round Men". This led to the festival being named, "Na Fir Blog".

Interesting Fact:   The festival originally was not a Heavy Metal based event.
In 1995, the event was headlined by Joe Cocker and Scottish band, Simple Minds. Due to Belgium being already saturated with other rock festivals, the organizers decided to attract fans of Heavy Metal music and start a brand new music festival. This was also due to the positive response to the likes of Motorhead, The Ramones and Paradise Lost putting on great sets at previous versions of the festival.

Other:    The festival has it's very own radio station, which broadcasts 24/7 throughout the entire festival and the lead up days to the start of the festival. Interesting Fact:  The festival was founded in 1971 by two high school students, Mogens Sandfær and Jesper Switzer Møeller, and promoter Carl Fischer.
